The seminar “Critical Approaches to Race” is organized by the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and the Group for Studies and Research on Migration and Ethnicity (GERME). Jean Illi, a researcher at the Laboratory of Anthropology of Contemporary Worlds (LAMC) at ULB, is one of the co-organizers of this seminar series. This seminar aims to explore racial dynamics and decolonization processes, emphasizing interdisciplinary and critical perspectives. The sessions address topics such as Belgium’s colonial legacy, the experiences of African diasporas, and the intersections between race, gender, and sexuality.
