What changes within me? What remains of my modus?
These were the questions posed by the intervention of the artist and researcher Tássia Murad during the public act organized by CONCILIARE in front of the Monument to the Portuguese Colonial Effort in Porto.
Created through a co-creative process with a group of artists, the initiative brought together diverse perspectives to reflect on the decolonization of public space.
Tássia’s installation offered a critical reflection on monuments, anti-monuments, and the artists’ anti-monumental proposal for this site.
Through the open sculpture Manto da Anunciação (Mantle of the Annunciation), and drawing on the work of authors such as Daniel Palacios González, José María Durán Medraño, Milton Santos, and Paulo Freire, the performance invited participants to inhabit the sculpture with their bodies and to voice their hopes for the future.
