How is colonialism remembered today by Mozambican students? How can academia contribute to historical reparation?
Aiming to answer these questions and many others, the University of Minho hosted another session of the Communication and Diversity Seminar, dedicated to the theme “Historical Memory and Mozambican Students’ Perceptions on the Production and Circulation of Knowledge”.
The event featured two presentations by Armindo Armando and Marlene Vanessa Marques Jamal, both from Licungo University, Mozambique, and was moderated by Tássia Murad Abreu (Federal University of São João del-Rei, Brazil).
It was an opportunity to discuss the controversies surrounding Portuguese colonial history in Mozambique, with a particular focus on the students’ point of view.
The seminar was organized by the CONCILIARE project in partnership with the Virtual Museum of Lusophony.
