The debate series “What do we do with this? Thinking about colonial issues” invites reflection and discussion on colonial legacies and their ongoing impact today. The series will take place in Braga (Portugal) as part of Braga’25 – National Capital of Culture, in partnership with CONCILIARE.
The project What do we do with this? brings together young artists, activists, scholars, and individuals with diverse experiences related to colonial issues. The group’s work has resulted in multiple artistic outputs, including a book featuring original stories and illustrations created under the mentorship of Ondjaki, a collective performance inspired by the book and an audiovisual art installation by Diogo Gazella Carvalho.
Now, in a two-day intensive programme, this work will be shared with the public, alongside a decolonial tour by Chisoka Simões and discussions curated by CONCILIARE, in collaboration with the MigraMediaArts project and the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) of the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho.
All activities are free and open to the public — so save the date, and we look forward to seeing you there!
