The traces of coloniality are still present in the city of Braga in many different ways.
The decolonial tour by Chisoka Simões, part of the Paraíso festival, showed how the presence of the Portuguese empire can still be felt around the streets, with monuments, tributes and stories. Therefore, the purpose of this activity was to awaken reflection and bring up the chance for new narratives.
Chisoka is a PhD student of Cultural Studies at University of Minho, and a collaborator of CONCILIARE. This event results from a partnership between CONCILIARE and FazCultura, Municipality of Braga.
