Last week, the Conciliare project took part in the National Symposium on Psychological Research, held at the University of Porto.
Researchers Joaquim Pires Valentim and Rosa Cabecinhas coordinated the thematic session “Representations of the Colonial Past: Dissemination, Change and Psychosocial Impact”.
The session explored different forms of social representation of Portugal’s colonial past in schoolbooks, museums, political discourse, and public spaces — as well as the changes and resistances to these psychosocial legacies and their implications for intergroup relations.
